VP of Sports & Events Sales

Position Summary: The VP of Sports & Events Sales is responsible for expanding the customer base, driving revenue growth, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients in the live events, sports, and media industries. This role requires a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, including cloud and IP-based services, as well as the ability to negotiate and close complex contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in sales within the broadcast, satellite, or live event telecommunications sectors and a strategic mindset to drive business expansion. Reports directly to the COO.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, including sports federations, production companies, sports rights agencies, and telecom providers.
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders to understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities for new services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and representing client interests during service fulfillment and assurance processes.

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:

  • Drive sales performance to achieve assigned revenue targets in occasional use live events applications across sports, news, and enterprise accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for new services, upgrades, and upsells within existing client organizations.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and leveraging industry contacts to presenting, negotiating, and closing new business deals.
  • Prepare compelling sales proposals and value propositions tailored to client needs.

Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:

  • Monitor industry trends, event calendars, and competitor offerings to position the company as a leading provider of occasional use broadcast services.
  • Develop sales forecasts, track contract closure timing, and provide insights into market dynamics.
  • Ensure an understanding of new generation cloud and IP-based media services to support customer migration from traditional workflows to innovative digital solutions.

Negotiation & Contract Management:

  • Negotiate complex short- and long-term contracts with high-profile clients, including sports organizations, media broadcasters, and event organizers.
  • Define accurate customer requirements to support bid/no-bid evaluations and ensure contract compliance.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and track activity in the CRM system.

Travel & Industry Engagement:

  • Travel (20-30%) as needed for client meetings, industry conferences, and sales presentations.
  • Represent the company at key industry events to expand networks and promote service offerings.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales within the sports & events sector, focusing on tier 1 and tier 2 customers.
  • Proven track record of business development and revenue growth in the broadcast, satellite, or live event telecommunications industry.
  • Strong understanding of occasional use business models and technologies, including satellite uplinks, fiber networks, and IP-based transmission.
  • Experience managing high-profile clients and negotiating complex deals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies in a competitive market.
  • Experience managing international clients.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • EU citizenship required.

  • Prepares and digitizes sound and image as well as quality control (QoS) of captured content.
  • Works in playout systems, automation systems, and other programs necessary for the implementation of the employer's activities.
  • Reviews and creates daily playlists, installs daily playlists on individual playout servers, and ensures their correctness.
  • Takes care of the smooth and accurate flow of content via FTP servers (and other programs/devices for the transfer of media content) for both primary media content and back-up media content.
  • Controls all reception and transmission spectrums used or carried out by the company through spectrum analyzers.
  • Monitors and controls all incoming and outgoing audio visual services.
  • Other assignments and duties in accordance with the instructions of its direct superior, the Employer’s Director, and other superiors.
  • Shift work on-site
